Catàleg Del Primer Saló D'humoristes

Published in Barcelona, Spain, by the Associació d'Humoristes de Barcelona on the occasion of their landmark exhibition held at Galeria Emporium in 1933, Catàleg del 1er Saló d'Humoristes is an exceptionally rare and historic vintage Catalan art exhibition catalog. This publication documents the groundbreaking first official salon dedicated to satirical drawing, caricature, graphic humor, and avant-garde illustration organized by Barcelona's leading illustrators and cartoonists during the vibrant Second Spanish Republic era.

Featuring a striking avant-garde softcover design on cream-toned paper stock, the front cover showcases bold two-tone typography in muted teal and coral-red. Across the upper portion, stylized hand-lettered text reads CATÀLEG del 1er SALÓ D'HUMORISTES 1933, cleverly integrated into a large coral-red numeral 1 background shape. The central artwork presents a surreal and grotesquely funny illustration of a checkered-clad figure sliced into sausage-like segments, complete with a severed laughing head and floating hands. The lower section displays prominent teal lettering reading ASSOCIACIÓ D'HUMORISTES DE BARCELONA, alongside a coral box framing the exhibition venue address GALERIA EMPORIUM P. Cucurulla 4. Inside, the pages list participating artists, works on display, and contemporary Catalan graphic art essays. An extraordinary centerpiece collectible for avant-garde art historians, Catalan cultural heritage archivists, and collectors of early 20th-century caricature ephemera.
