Caveman cartoons

Published in the United States by Avon Books, Caveman Cartoons is an entertaining vintage paperback cartoon anthology dedicated entirely to stone-age satire and prehistoric humor. Carrying catalog number 627 and originally priced at 25 cents, this volume gathers a curated collection of mid-century single-panel gag cartoons exploring the playful absurdity of life in the Stone Age, prehistoric romance, early tool-making, and eternal human dynamics.

The front cover features a bold red upper field framed in the top left by the oval Avon logo, catalog code 627, and the 25c price mark. A dark header reads New CARTOONS - a laugh on every page above the jagged white title CAVEMAN CARTOONS. Set against a pitch-black lower background, the central cartoon illustration depicts a red-haired caveman standing on a blue stone holding a wooden club overhead, indecisively looking between a blonde woman on the left and a red-haired woman on the right. Inside, the pages present an abundance of black-and-white single-panel cartoons featuring classic mid-century slapstick and visual wit. An essential centerpiece collectible for vintage comic paperback collectors, cartoon history enthusiasts, and mid-century humor archives.
