Mordillo cartoons Opus 1

Published in the United Kingdom by Hutchinson, Mordillo Cartoons Opus 1 is an exceptional and highly collectible vintage graphic humor anthology celebrating the whimsical cartoon work of legendary creator Guillermo Mordillo. Renowned worldwide for his colorful, wordless single-panel and multi-panel gags featuring bulbous-nosed characters, tender romantic situations, and absurd animal antics, Mordillo stands as one of the most widely published cartoonists of the twentieth century.

The front cover features a rich brown background framing a large title heading at the top displaying the distinctive puffy white lettering MORDILLO with colorful layered drop shadows, above the subtitle CARTOONS Opus 1. Below the title, two sequential panel illustrations set against a bright yellow background depict a caveman character hiding behind jungle foliage, unaware of a large elephant sneaking up behind him with a flower. The Hutchinson publisher logo appears centered along the bottom margin. Inside, the pages present a rich archive of Mordillo's celebrated full-color visual comedy. An essential centerpiece collectible for Guillermo Mordillo fans, vintage European comic collectors, and wordless humor art enthusiasts.
