Passionella and other stories

Published in the United States, Passionella and other stories is an exceptional and highly collectible vintage graphic humor collection authored and illustrated by the influential cartoonist, playwright, and satirist Jules Feiffer. Renowned for his seminal work in The Village Voice and his pioneering style of narrative graphic storytelling, Feiffer delivers a brilliant anthology of modern satirical fables. Through expressive ink lines and witty dialogues, the collection presents memorable stories including the tale of Passionella, a chimney sweep who magically turns into a glamorous movie star, along with sharp allegorical pieces dissecting post-war social anxieties, Hollywood consumerism, media obsession, and existential self-doubt.

The front cover features a light off-white background with the main title Passionella printed at the top in double-outlined serif typography, accompanied by and other stories in a stylized cursive script. The central artwork is set against a coral-orange background shape, depicting a modest figure looking into an ornate standing mirror that reflects the ideal, glamorous silhouette of Passionella. The lower section displays the creator credit Jules Feiffer above author of Sick, Sick, Sick in classic lettering. Inside, the pages present a rich sequence of multi-panel graphic stories rendered in Feiffer's signature minimalist line style. An essential centerpiece collectible for Jules Feiffer fans, graphic novel historians, vintage paperback collectors, and mid-century satirical art archives.
