Salvese quien pueda

Published in Spain by Editorial Fundamentos, Sálvese quien pueda is an exceptional and highly collectible graphic humor volume created by the world-renowned French illustrator Jean-Jacques Sempé. Famous for his iconic covers for The New Yorker and his co-creation of Le Petit Nicolas, Sempé is celebrated for his unique ability to capture human vulnerability, urban loneliness, and social pretense through intricate, delicate pen-and-ink artwork. This edition brings his acclaimed satirical vignettes to Spanish-speaking audiences, highlighting his subtle observational comedy and poetic visual narrative.

The front cover features an off-white background with the large title text QUIEN PUEDA displayed across the top in bold black serif typography, along with EDITORIAL FUNDAMENTOS printed on the upper left and Sempé styled in elegant red script on the upper right. The main cover layout displays a multi-panel sequential story composed of oval-framed illustrations that follow a couple through subtle domestic and public interactions, complete with small touch-ups of green color accenting holiday decorations. At the bottom, a directional arrow is accompanied by the text continúa en contraportada. Inside, the pages offer a rich collection of Sempé's single-panel and multi-panel graphic works. An essential centerpiece collectible for Sempé enthusiasts, French graphic art archives, and vintage illustration libraries.
